Extra Exercise
I managed to go to the gym once this week on Tuesday.

Review
I did not meet my target hours exercise, this was only due to entering the Snowdonia Half Marathon on Tuesday so I tapered my amounts of practice prior. I am still pleased with the quality of exercise performed this week. Although it was not planned, I did complete a run of 2:10, which is pretty cool. This may have been down to a misguided route on my race but it all counts the same. I didn't go to the gym three times, this was a bit of a disappointment. Next week I will make sure I get this done.

Overall I am happy with my performance this week. Next week I will look to increase the load but spread across the days, I will be racing another half marathon in a couple of weeks time so want to be fresh

Targets

1. 10 Hours of cardiovascular exercise

2. Gym at least 3 times

Breakfast Option No.1- Puffed Rice

The first 'Tasty High-Carb Vegan breakfast option' I am going to review is Puffed Brown Rice

5 Tasty 'High-Carb Vegan' Breakfast Options

I love eating my breakfast, it satiates me and readies my body for a hard days graft. It's also that time of day where you can have a few rare moments to yourself to think about what exactly you are going to do. Obviously it is important to find a breakfast option that provides you with enough energy to smash the day, but I think taste is pretty important too!

Over the next few days I am going to be writing posts about 5 breakfast options that a high-carb vegan could eat. I am going to review each option, and then rate them  to give you some sort of idea on which option would be best suited towards you.

Be sure to subscribe so that you do not miss a post

Budget High-Carb Shopping

Whilst at university, I was skint, and always looked for the cheapest way of filling myself with crap. Today my food choices differ enormously, however I still enjoy eating on a shoe-string budget. For those students out there who have come back from a year of over-indulging and binging at university here is an example 'high-carb' shopping list that will not destroy the overdraft.

I remember having about £60 to spend per week (on everything) when I was a student, so I am going to try and keep my food allowance below £30. I will be taking the prices from a chain nationwide supermarket, the prices may vary slightly between stores.

The below list, is what I now know I could have lived off, and still be high-carb, healthy and most importantly happy

Tired of being tired?

I love that that feeling of waking up feeling great after a stellar nights sleep. It now seems as if people will go to the greatest extremes to get that feeling. With the importance of sleep now well researched, businesses make big bucks selling specific drugs and remedies that will 'aid' your sleep or make you feel less tired. I actually pinched the title of this post off an advertisement I walked past for a sleeping drug.

Before adopting the high-carb vegan lifestyle I was dependent on caffeine to feel awake and alcohol to get to sleep. In reality, I was just suppressing the symptoms of fatigue instead of addressing them.
Over time I have realised there is an easier way! Waking up with that fresh feeling can and has become an everyday feeling for me, and here are a few realistic, simple and cheap tips on how.

High-Carb Vegan London

I was in London for the weekend visiting my sister, she is also vegan. Its great because she has already done the research into great vegan friendly eat outs, and she knows that I like to eat a lot of carbs. I took some photos of what we had to eat when we went out for food.

On the Friday night, we ate a takeaway from 'Rasa' in Stoke-Newington. I had two portions of rice with a lentil curry. The curry was a bit on the oily side (even though I asked for low oil), so I only had about half of the portion they gave me. Needless to say I had both portions of rice.
Stoke-Newington is brimming with high quality fruits and vegetable stores and vegan friendly restaurants, definitely worth checking out if your a vegan looking for somewhere good to live in London
